Mechanics

Enemies Ignited by you take Chaos Damage instead of Fire Damage from Ignite: This modifier causes enemies ignited by you to take the ignite damage as chaos damage instead of fire damage. Note that this is not conversion.

• Offensively, ignites is still considered fire damage over time. The wearer's chaos damage does not contribute to ignite, unless they have a stat that allows chaos/all damage contributes to ignite's magnitude.
• Defensively, ignite is mitigated as chaos damage by the enemy's chaos resistance and modifiers to chaos damage taken, such as Withered.
  • This means ignite can no longer benefit from effects that lower enemy fire resistance such as through exposure.
  • This also means that enemies with Chaos Inoculation or other sources of immunity to chaos damage will be unaffected by ignite. If a Blackflame ignite is reflected to the player, the same principles apply.
• This effect also affects non-player Ignited Ground and ignite from other sources such as minions, as long as the enemy has been inflicted with an ignite with an ongoing duration by the wearer, even if it is not the ignite actively dealing damage.

Although not listed on the item's modifiers, Blackflame appears to have retained the effects of Withered does not expire on Enemies Ignited by you from the original item in Path of Exile.
