Your Light Radius determines the distance from your character which will be illuminated in dark areas, and the radius within which terrain and points of interest are revealed on the map.
Light radius is a stat which determines the distance light will spread from your character in dark areas. It can be found as an item modifier, often as part of a hybrid mod.
Mechanics
In addition to actual visibility on the screen in dark areas, light radius also affects the area of fog of war removal on the minimap and increases the distance from which doors, points of interest, and other notable markers appear on the minimap.[1]
Brightness in the game's graphics settings does not affect light radius.
