The Riverbank
The Riverbank is the first area of Act 1 and is connected to Clearfell Encampment. Once you have left the area you cannot return.
Area
Dregs and filth from the manor gather in silence.
You have escaped the judgment of the noose and wash up on the river shore. Rain stings your face and the roar of the floodwater fills your ears.
The Riverbank is a linear area with a few larger clearings containing trees.
The player's character will start near the river. After approaching the nearby stranger, the player will obtain a nearby normal default starting weapon depending on the player's class. A tutorial will appear to equip this item once picked up. They will also begin with one Module Error: No results found for item using search term "item_name = Lesser Life Flask" and one Module Error: No results found for item using search term "item_name = Lesser Mana Flask" equipped in the flask slots, and three Module Error: No results found for item using search term "item_name = Scroll of Wisdom" in their inventory.
Certain classes may also encounter a Large Chest shortly afterward with an additional normal off-hand equipment.
A Large Chest containing a class-dependant skill gem lies further along the riverbank. A tutorial to equip skill gems will appear once picked up.
The area introduces checkpoints.
Upon approaching the last section of the area, the player will encounter the Bloated Miller, the tutorial unique boss that must be killed to access the first town.
If the player loses approximately 25% of life from enemies, an optional tutorial to use a life flask will appear. If the player reaches low life or low mana for the first time, the game pauses until you use a life flask or mana flask respectively.
